Fell 15 February 2009
Ordinary Chondrite L6 S3 WO
History: The meteorite fell February 15, 2009, at ~11:00 am.
After the Tucson show we had some plans to hunt, so we were already on the way for meteorite hunt in Texas before meteorite fell.
News about the fall caught us already half way from Tucson. It was a very big surprise for us and we decided to turn a bit there immediately.
Our team by chance was the FIRST on the place. The first stone was picked up on the third day after the fall.
So our stones were on the ground bit less time than other meteorite hunters found their stones.
These pieces are from the first 12 finds on the strewnfield. Most of this material is used for scientific purposes, registration in UCLA and donations.
One sample was sliced to produce material for investigations and material to recover trip cost.
