Chondrite H5 with impact melt



History: This meteorite was discovered by an anonymous finder on a limestone plateau in the Dhofar region of Oman.
Physical characteristics: One stone of 468 grams. Fusion crust is partly present.
Geochemistry and Petrography: (M. Ivanova of Vernad, classifier and A. Ulianov of MSU, analyst., EMP):
Fayalite (mol%): 17.4, Ferrosilite (mol%): 15, S6, W2, Ca-Px: Wo43.7Fs5.1; Partial melting.
Classification: The meteorite is a H5 chondrite partial melt.
Specimens: sample and one thin section are on deposit at Vernadsky Institute.
An anonymous collector holds the main mass.
