Mosasaur Jaws
Morocco
Upper Cretaceous
Two jaws and six teeth
Mosasaurs were giant, serpentine marine reptiles that grew up to 60 feet long. They were powerful swimmers that had adapted to living in shallow seas.
These carnivores (meat-eaters) did not have gills, so they still breathed air like alligators do today.
They were a short-lived line of reptiles that went extinct during the K-T extinction, 65 million years ago.

The preparers extracted the teeth and bone fragments from the original brittle matrix and reassembled the pieces into the configuration below -
just like museums do after they've extracted fossilized bones from a dig site. However, the preparers went a step further with this specimen
and mounted the jaw fragments in a stronger matrix comprised of crushed original matrix and a binding compound. So you are getting
original bone and teeth, but mounted in a reconstituted matrix for a more impressive display.
